Williams-Sonoma Dealsby Mary Ann Romans | More from this Blogger 08 May 2007 07:08 AM Need a last minute Mother's Day gift? Williams-Sonoma hopes to come to the rescue by offering a free upgrade to its rush shipping service. Just order by today or tomorrow (by May 10th), and your mom will receive her gift(s) just in time. If you have been reading my blogs, you know that we recently purchased our first set of real dishes from Williams-Sonoma during a recent deal. We love the quality of the dishes. I have put them in the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher without a problem. They have even been banged a few times, already, without suffering from any chips, cracks or breakage. Don't get me wrong, the dishes weren't inexpensive, but the quality and the deal on them made the purchase justifiable. So, while I can't shop at Williams-Sonoma every day or even every month, I do keep a look out for the deals at this store. Currently, there are no coupon codes to be found, but there are still some good deals. The biggest promotion going on now (as mentioned above) is the deal on an upgrade to free shipping from the Williams-Sonoma website. This is a $15 value. So, if you are a last minute shopper, or want to help your family out with something you have been wanting, you can take advantage of this deal. Just order by 9 p.m. tomorrow night to upgrade and guarantee your gift arrival. There are also some sales going on right now in dining, cooking, food & books and more. Current new sales offerings include such upscale items as a wood cheese keeper, reduced to $29.99 from $60 and a Japanese mortar & pestle, reduced to $79.99 from $120. Personally, I tend to be on the more practical side, so I am eyeing up the silicone spatulas at only $3.99 a piece. I am very abusive with my silicone spatulas, and the Williams-Sonoma ones seem to take my abuse the best. I probably should stock up. The only color they currently have left online is Saffron (yellow), but it is a pretty color. Do you shop at Williams-Sonoma? I guess I always thought it was way to expensive for my pockets. We also don't have a W-S around here. Laura Mary Ann Romans (26886) 09 May 2007 07:23 AMThey are pretty pricey, but I have found that the stuff seems to last forever, so if there is a good deal on something we need, it is worth it. I have a bowl from there that has lasted me more than 10 years without a scratch or a chip. In comparison, cheaper dinner wear seems to chip and get dull within a year or two. jonesx6 (1606) 10 May 2007 05:55 AMI bought our Corelle from Bradlees more than 10 years ago and I have to say they look brand new. lol I think we spent over a hundred dollars on the service for 8. We have been pricing new dishes but since they are so expensive and we know that they will either be lost or broken, it isn't worth it right now. Maybe when the children are grown. lol Laura Mary Ann Romans (26886) 10 May 2007 11:15 AMI ahve heard great things about Corelle, but I didn't think they could go in the oven? That is a necessity here since my husband often works late. Mary Ann Romans (26886) 14 May 2007 07:22 PMThanks Hongyan! Can you use them in a conventional oven, too?
