Saving Real Money

Here's what came in the mail today:

1. Lots of bills. 2. A paycheck (yay) 3. A $20 gift card from ATT for staying with them after my contract ended. 4. A coupon booklet for $10 in "supercenter" savings. The coupons are from Hunts, Orville Reddenbacher, Peter Pan, Reddi Whip, and Healthy Choice brands. They include a coupon for a FREE 24 oz bottle of Hunts Ketchup. I signed up on the walmart Website. There's also a mail in form - when I purchase $25 worth of the listed products and submit the proof of purchase and the supercenter receipt, I will receive another $34 in coupons.

Saturday's mail brought a coupon for a free 12 pack of Coca Cola products, from the MyCoke Rewards site.

I'm looking for another $25 CVS giftcard from MyPoints. It's nice to earn ExtraCare bucks and use coupons and ECBs, and pay NOTHING for the difference.

Hardly a day goes by that SOMETHING is not in the mailbox from my deal hunting. It could be a free coupon, a gift card, or a refund check. These days, the paycheck is smaller, and the payoffs from coupons, rebates, and deal hunting are becoming more important for stretching our dollars and maintaining a good quality of life.

Seriously, I've been a single mom, and I have known the times when the money just didn't stretch to cover the last week's groceries when the bills were paid. With two boys, an empty pantry is unacceptable. Coupons, rebates, free food, meant the ability to go to the store, buy what we needed, sometimes get money back for it, and the kids never knew how close it was for us. Yes, clipping coupons, trading them and shopping with them takes time and planning. But, as this lady says, "If you don't have time to save, you haven't been broke enough".

I'm a veteran deal hunter with two grown sons. I have been clipping coupons and doubling up with rebates and sales and points rewards since they were babies.
