Publix Deals and Stealsby Debbie Clark (DealDebbie) | More from this Blogger 24 May 2009 01:08 PM I'm going to put this article up today, and try to enjoy what little sun we've been getting for the Memorial Day weekend tomorrow. I wanted to let you know about my great shopping trip at Publix, and also give you a heads up on free breakfast tomorrow at IKEA. That's right, free breakfast at IKEA. They want you to shop there tomorrow morning, before the parades, picnics, and festivities. So they will feed you breakfast. It's a $2 value. OK, now on to bragging. With the weather being so crummy here, we have guests who are indoors and hungry. So off to Publix for us. With the current Buy 1 Get 1 Free Sales going on, you can save really big. It just so happens that many of the items on sale are Kraft and Hunt's brand, and so there have been LOADS of high value printable coupons. At Publix, you can use your coupons on both the "purchased" item and the store freebie. It's like doubling coupons, only better. My total at Publix, which included the discounts for the Buy 1 Get 1 free savings, and free milk was 96.40. (total value without B1G1F would have been 121.17.) Then, with my coupons, the total was $56.00 even, including tax. Here are some of the great deals, and they're still available: Rice Krispies: 4 for 7.96 minus $4 coupons - total 4 for $3.96. Got free Publix milk with that deal and more tokens for Star Trek Tees. Publix B1G1F sales Orville Redenbacher Popcorn: 2 for $4.89 minus $1 coupon on 2 = 2 for $3.89. Nabisco Triscuit: 2 for $3.59 (bought 4), so 4 for 7.18 minus 4 $1 coupons = 4 for $3.18. Nabisco Wheat Thins: Same as the Triscuits. Kraft BBq sauce: 2 for $1.75 minus 2 $1 coupons = 25 cent profit. Hunts pudding: $1.00 each. Used my $1 off 3 coupon from a mailer. Used $5 in Publix coupons from their sponsorship of a local race. I also cashed in some freebies - Hunts Ketchup, Coke 12 pack, Dasani Essence bottles, and a B1G1F coupon for Vitamin Water. Then it was on to CVS, where I bought 2 boxes of Kashi Cereal for $5, 4 bags of David's Sunflower Seeds for $5, and 2 boxes of Orville Redenbacher popcorn (small) for $5. I used the mailer $1 off 2 David's coupon, a $1 off Orville Redenbacher coupon, a $1.50 off two Kashi coupon, and $9 ECBs. I paid $2.50 for $15 worth of items at CVS, and came out with $5 more in Extra Care Bucks. Then on to one of the local dollar stores for some shampoo for my friend. She paid pennies for a bottle of Suave after coupons. As for me, I used my high value coupons and shopped the clearance aisle. That's what I frequently do, to stockpile non perishables. I came home with about a 60% savings off my items, many of which were already discounted below anything you find at other stores. Adding it all up, that's about $148 worth of groceries for under $64, including tax. Here's the picture - not as good as I would have liked, but you get the idea: This was just a spur of the moment thing. Imagine what you can do with real planning. Relevantdealsblog tags User Comments Matt282 (6) 08 Oct 2009 05:27 PMUnruly coupon abusers...Publix is a great place to shop. They accept all traditional grocery store coupons and sometimes untraditional coupons due to unruly coupon users. Publix accepts one manufacture coupon and one store or competitor coupon (NOT ALL THREE) for one product. Unruly coupon user need to read the coupon limits as well. Your unruliness to the cashier serving you while there is a long line of other customers affects the job security of that cashier. Publix is well known for great customer service but there are those who take advantage of that priviledge. Unruly customers don't care what happens to the cashier as well as the other associates who have to make up the loss of the coupons (money) that could not be recouped from the manufacture. Bottom line...loss of wages through non-promotions or pay raises. So who hurting in the end. It's tough enough to try and find a job that pays well to keep up with hurting economy. Ok...I'm off my soup box. All I ask is to be considerate and use coupons appropriately and be responsible. Debbie Clark (DealDebbie) (541) 25 Oct 2009 02:52 PMWow, don't know how I missed this one. Glad you are off your "soup" box. BTW, have you tried the new boxed soups from V8 and Progresso? I don't know where you are coming from about unruliness. This blog is about how to use coupons. If it inconveniences you, find another job. Community Tags Unruly Coupon Users Discuss this article
