My Shopping Trip at Walmart Today

Well, I am back from Walmart. I don't do my major shopping there, but shop the specials. Here's what I did:

Keebler Chips Deluxe cookies - $2 each. Bought two packs, used $1.50/2 printable coupon. Final price: $1.25 each.

Yoplait Yogurt Delights multipack: $2 each. Bought two, using $1 coupon on each from Smart Source 9/29. Final Price: $1 each multipack.

Lean cuisine Entrees: Rollback price $2 each. I bought three, using a coupon for $1.50/3 from All you October 2009. Final price: $1.50 each.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Entrees: Rollback price $2 each. I bought 5 using a $2.50 coupon from a blinkie machine. Final price: $1.50 each.

Kashi Go Lean crunch Cereal - Price $3. I bought one using a $2 coupon from a mailer. I love Kashi products, and they are very generous about mailing coupons to you if you have any communication with them at all.

Taco Bell Soft Taco dinner kit - Rollback price $1.88. I used a $1.00 coupon from Smart Source. The final price was 88 cents. This is for 10 soft taco shells, and seasoning and sauce.

Hormel Compleats - these are $1.98 each at rollback price. I used a newspaper coupon for .75/2, and a B1G1F coupon from All You. Final price: 1.07.

I find that Walmart is great for some produce, but not for all. They tend to have the cheapest tomatoes and grapes that are of very good quality. For local produce, I go to Publix. I also usually do not buy meat at Walmart unless there is a sale, as I can do better at other grocery stores.

The cashier was pretty excited to see all the coupons. She was new and being very careful. She reminded me that Walmart matches prices, so when she goes to another store, she notes their prices and then comes back to Walmart with the circular. About all she said she does at the local grocery stores is the Buy one Get one free sales. This is a sensible strategy here in the land of no double coupons.

Has anyone had any luck getting Walmart to take Target coupons? I have not personally tried this - I will try it and see.

While I didn't score any incredible freebies today, I took about 35% off the bill with coupons. You can do this too - every week - and pocket the extra cash!

Awesome deals, but what's more incredible is that you found a friendly cashier at Wal-Mart, who actually didn't give you a hard time with multiple coupons!! A good day indeed!

BTW, I can't get Wal-Mart to take Target coupons and I live in WI.

Michelle, you should move down south here. They really get excited about it, want to know about the blogs and things so they can go home and cut their own coupons and tell their mamas!!!
