baby face This is one of the best freebies I have ever received. I couldn't believe what a great book this is, and it is free for the asking.

State Farm Insurance is offering a free full-sized baby care book, titled, Caring for Your Baby and Young Child: Birth to Age 5. The book is from the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is a very comprehensive manual for child care and child raising information. I have the book sitting on my shelf, and even though I am an experienced mom, I refer back to it all of the time. I find myself opening up to look up information about things such as rashes, fevers and emergency care.

The book is very large and includes a month-by-month guide to the first year. This covers the baby milestones and basic stuff, such as swaddling, why the baby is crying, how to give a first bath, etc.

There is a very complete guide to feeding babies, toddler and young children, with loads of nutritional information based on the latest research.

The book also goes into great detail about childhood illnesses and includes a complete immunization schedule. I found the schedule very helpful. My pediatric office is so busy that it is difficult for us to get on-time appointments for well visits and shots. With the immunization schedule, I could keep track of who needs what shots at what time and be a better advocate for my kids.

A nice feature of the book is, unlike other child care books, it doesn't stop covering issues after the first year or two. So with one book, I can find everything I need for all three of my children.

Signing up for this free offer is very easy. There are no long surveys to fill out, no additional offers to complete, and I have never been bombarded with spam or junk mail. State farm doesn't even mind if you fill out the form to send the book to a friend or relative instead of sending it to yourself.

State Farm Insurance says that the book will take anywhere from 3-6 weeks to arrive, but I received mine in only two weeks.
