Free Baby Magazines

baby face When my first child was born, I spent hours pouring over baby magazines while he played happily next to me. Sometimes he would even "read" the magazine with me, looking at the photos of babies and deciding which pages were worthy of tearing to shreds in his glee.

The magazines were very valuable to me for their advice. The stories from parents who were going through the same things I was, as a new mom, were comforting and sometimes hysterically funny.

I remember sitting on the floor in the baby's room with my magazines, the morning sun streaming in, and the feeling that my son would be a baby forever. Well, of course that didn't happen. Now that I have three children, I have less time to read, but I still love those baby magazines.

An added benefit to these free baby magazines, is that they often have baby-related coupons in them. I have saved on diapers, baby food and baby equipment, just by cutting out their coupons.

Here are two of my favorite free baby magazines. Signing up for each of these magazines is free. They generally cover baby issues from pregnancy to age 18 or 24 months.

American Baby: This was my very first free baby magazine, and is, what I consider, the standard. There is lots of great advice on baby milestones, cute layettes, decorating the baby's room and more.

Babytalk: This is my favorite of the baby magazines because it focuses a lot on baby health and care issues. There is always the latest advice from experts on getting your baby to sleep, feeding your baby solids, etc.

There are some other "free" magazines out there, but the two above are the ones I recommend. Some free baby magazines are really just disguised advertising (every bit of advice focuses on using their products) or they require you to register or complete an offer before you can get your subscription. That is just too sneaky for me, but if you want to see what is available, just do a search on "free baby magazine."
