DealDebbie's Excellent CVS Adventure

The other day at CVS, I bought over $50 worth of items. After coupons and Extracare Bucks, the total was $10 and change. I used a $25 gift card which I had obtained for free (of course) from Mypoints, and so I paid nothing - and there is still money left on the gift card. I also walked out with another $5 in Extracare Bucks. Here is the breakdown:

  • 3 12 packs of coke products - 12
  • 3 bottles of Palmolive Dishwashing liquid @ .88 2.64
  • 3 bottles of Soft Soap liquid soap @ 1.99 5.97
  • 2 Speed Stick 24/7 deodorant @3.00 each 6.00
  • 2 bags of tostitos chips @2 for $5 5.00
  • 2 cans of white albacore tuna @.99 1.98
  • 2 boxes of Kashi cereal @ 4.69 each 9.38
  • 2 bottles of V8 juice @3.59 each 7.18
  • Total 50.15

  • Minus Coupons
  • Coke - 3 free coupons (Thanks MyCokeRewards!) -12.00
  • Palmolive 3 coupons for .50 each -1.50
  • Soft Soap 3 coupons for $1.00 each -3.00
  • B1G1F Speed Stick -3.00
  • V8 - two printable coupons for $1 each -2.00
  • (Red Plum AND Coupons.com)
  • Kashi, $1.50 off any two cereals (printable) -1.50
  • Extra Care Bucks -17.00
  • Total 10.15
  • Balance on card 14.85
  • Extra Bucks $5

I am still ahead by 19.85 the next time I visit CVS.

You had better believe that the next visit will also be targeted toward more Extra Care Bucks, more value with coupons, more free stuff, more, more, more.....and I'll tell you all about it.

The CVS manager tells me I am not alone - savvy people who combine coupons, Extra Care Bucks, (ECBs) and sales get great bargains - and keep coming back for more!
