American Express Spring Fling

American Express is conducting a Spring Fling promotion. When you buy two American Express gift cards, they will send you a $25 Spring Fling gift card in the mail. When I first heard of this promotion, I wasn’t very impressed. It’s a great promotion, but I don’t need any gift cards right now. Then I started thinking about it. These Amex gift cards work anywhere an American Express credit card is accepted. I pay for gas and groceries with my debit card. Why couldn’t I use the gift cards instead? I would get use out of the Amex cards and … Continue reading

What’s Happening at the Mall? Part 2

As I mentioned in my previous blog, Whats Happening at the Mall? the kids and I went to the mall Saturday. We had a lot of fun finding deals and a bunch of goodies we each wanted. I asked my eight year old daughter what she learned from this shopping trip and she said, “Always use coupons and you will get more.” I think I have a coupon queen in the making! My daughter had the most fun at Limited Too. She received $5 off her purchase because she brought in her report card and showed it to the associate. … Continue reading

I spent $53.67 and received $155 worth of goodies. I am going to share what I found with you and the discounts I used. You can use these to find some great deals at your mall. Victoria Secret was the first store I went to. … Continue reading

Time to Stock Up on Candles

There is something about a room lit with candle light that says peace, love, and happiness. Candles create a mood and have a way of changing a room with a small flickering light. The moving flame calms people and sets the mood. They are, by far, my favorite way to decorate a room. So when candles go on sale, I stock up. Several candle companies are conducting clearance sales right now. This is the perfect time to get ready for the Fourth of July festivities. Many summer items are on sale. Red and white candles can also be set aside … Continue reading

Fun With the Kids

On the weekends, around our house we always try to do something fun. It usually involves packing up the car and heading out to somewhere out of the ordinary. We just moved to Central Florida, so you can imagine the stuff there is to do around here. The problem is always, MONEY. How much can we spend this weekend and stay within the budget? Usually, it’s not very much so I search for fun stuff that is very inexpensive. The kids don’t care as long as they have fun. Museums are a fun way to stretch little ones minds and … Continue reading

Technology Greets Couponing

Technology is catching up to our couponing world. America Online has teamed up with your favorite grocery store to add coupons to your store club card. Is this the coupon clipping of the new generation? The free AOL service is called Shortcuts.com. Instead of having to clip coupons, you can load them onto your store savings card. Take the card to the store, choose your groceries, and swipe your card when you arrive at the register. The computer will automatically take the coupon savings off the grocery bill before you pay. As a kid, I have fond memories of helping … Continue reading
